worst trip ever @ do you believe in God?

Why worst trip ever..?

I am pretty used to travelling and if I could blow my trumpet a little I think I am smart traveller and I know how to handle most things that comes my way...

but what if it seems that heavens is hell bent (maybe it is the devil and not God) on playing tricks with you?

I had an overly stressful 2 weeks in KL and it felt like 2 days.. it was filled with meetings and I have so much programmed spread between my co-workers, customers, family and friends that I totally felt claustrophobic - there was just no time for me.. cant even find time to cut my hair... sigh..

so i was praying for a break.. just to get my head back in place..

left KL on Saturday, supposed to arrive afternoon in London and wanted to meet up with Nicholas and maybe grab some English beer, do some shopping and also for sunday before meeting some customers... instead what happened seemed like it was from some scripted sitcom for 'worst day of my life'...

1. Saturday:

I arrived London... my luggage didn't- took me 2 hours longer to fill forms and track it down.

Silver Lining: they found it in Malaysia, it misse dthe plane and will arrive the next day.

so I had to drive more than an hour one way to get back to the airport to get the lugage back on sunday.

2. Sunday:

After going to heathrow then to buy some gifts for the people i was visting, I went to a church service with Nic. 'he' must have heard my prayers and wasn't sympatheic or was maybe just showing me the sign that I have always been asking him for.

After dinner, i needed to drive more than 2 hours to my next destination and meeting town on Monday.. because of the cold weather the GPS system (called tom tom) feel of from the windscreen and wham.. the usb connection to the power supplier broke...

ooppseeyyyy... now how can I get about... I was thankfully not far away and on distress call from me and Silver lining here again... Nic has a spare unit... although cranky and can't find the postcode I wanted (there is a reason why Nic was not using it any more), it got me to where I needed to go...

Also I started having a tummy ache no joke.. then had to stay pretty long in the toilet to get things 'de-tox-ed' ... uurrgghhh silver lining, I became less bolted..

3. Monday

Woke up early and checked with the people in the hotel if I could get a replacement part for my GPS.. they gave me two possibility near the hotel.. the location was perfect...! first one that opens at 8.. no.. have to wait till 9 for the next to open and the guy said no.. sorry please try another store.. dejected I went out and pass the damn thing i was looking for and said, isn't this it???

The store guy didn't know it was there.. but it was.. so I was 20 pound poorer but I have my GPS back on.. Tom Tom was alive again..

got to the meeting OK and drove to the next and it started snowing! Got to the next meeting point and my customer recommened me an inn which was close enough and not expensive too..

checked myself in had dinner and went to bed.

4. Tuesday

Woke up at 6,00 wanted to leave at 7 am after breakfast for a long drive to another customer.. and wa la! It snowed so heavily the last night that I was snowed in.. The place I was staying was up on a hill and on some local roads.. it was not gritted, I had no snow driving experience and i was jsut snowed in... seems that I will miss my appointement and my flight out the next day at the other corner of the country..

silver lining??? it gave me the break i needed.. i went to the pool, bought a swim suit, went for a swim and they had a out door jacuzzi with a rof which I dipped in .. as the snow feel in front of me.. with kids making snowmen, dogs playing.. just infront of the hotel.. really.. it was good...

Here is the hot pool, you dip in, walk out side and you have the roofted outdoor portion:

view from the pool as the snow continued to fall.. but I was warm and comfy in the bubbly waters of the pool:

this is a happy, relaxed me:

i just need that 1/2 day to get myself together. By noon everything looked better and some nurses I met at the pool offered me advise on driving in the snow and one accompanied me down the local roads.. I straight for the airport, cancelled my appointment (cant be there in any case) and took the cheapest and earliest flight back...

before that could happened, I walked about 2 hours around the 2 different terminal with different counters and airlines to find the best buy.. because i wanted to leave on the same day most website would not aloow me to book already.. uurrrgghhh.. at the end the ticket was pricey.. but can't be help... it was the cheapest I could find...

4. today..

well back to work.. some normalcy.. dunno if my boss will kill me over the one cheap unsed ticket and the expensive return ticket which I bought.. I also cannot find the receipt for 4 cases of wine I bought for my customers... sigh.. if else I will be another 150 pound poorer!!

The strange thing about what has happened was more like.. something bad happened but it wasn't all that bad.. then the next one happens and again some saving grace...

bad luck with some good luck.. or just smeone up there or down there making a little joke at me..

sighhhhhhh...... well at least I experinece my first really heavy snow fall!

here's a crazy photo of me jumping out of the pool into the snow.. to the bewilderment of the nurses who help me take the photo!
